Most of our customers use fasteners of some type in their products. They are typically sourced from a local fastener retailer where the customer usually gets some type of discount. We recommend that customers look at their annual spend on each fastener and target just those with high volumes. One customer had 250 types of fasteners but only uses OEMCP for 10 of them.
The Process:
Once the fasteners with the greatest potential for savings have been identified, the parts are usually expressed to our supplier for evaluation.
Controlling the Quality:
The particulars of each fastener is confirmed, by engineered drawings where required, and samples are returned for customer approval.
Cost?
Fasteners can deliver savings of around 50%, although we have had 90%! Typically local prices include overheads for stock holding and retail frontage that manufacturers do not need or want, especially when high volume fasteners are involved. Quotes cost nothing so why not ask for a price?
